Women Find Their Way

I recently have expressed my gratitude and blessings regarding my current employment status. A mental checklist:

Do I particularly enjoy my 'job'? No.
Is it what I love to do? No.
Is it where I want to be location wise? No.
Does it pay what I deserve? No.

Counter-acting; in today's economy, is it a full time position? Yes.
Do I receive vacation time? Yes.
Do I collect a paycheck each week? Yes.
Does it pay the bills? Yes.

Counting my blessings, many people in my field, many people I graduated with are unemployed, working part time or working multiple small odd and end jobs to make ends meat. Many of which are raising a family. Many of which are supporting others. I'm thankful to live in such an empowering city of culture, career and community. Through the support of many non-profit organizations in Philadelphia, many are able to receive the help they need to get back on their feet, dress for success and land that interview.

One organization in particular, Career Wardrobe, holds many networking and encouraging events around the city to help empower women to succeed in a professional workplace. Career Wardrobe brings confidence, knowledge and inspiration to thousands of women in Philadelphia. Any age. Any race. There is no discrimination. There is a drive and passion to help women better their lives to better their families.

On June 7th, Career Wardrobe is holding their annual fundraiser at the Hyatt at the Bellevue from 6-9pm. This event is expected to bring in over 300 supporters and help raise $90,000 for this nonprofit organization. This event appropriately titled: 'A Perfect Fit; Portraits of Progress' will consist of a reception (including cocktail and snacks), a photography exhibit auction, as well as a celebrity fashion show. This show will hit home in Philadelphia with bold, known faces from Fox296ABCBEN FMNBC10CBS3Philadelphia Magazine as well as a select few Philadelphia Eagles wives. These individuals will donate their attire right off their backs after modeling at this event.

Past events have been a huge success for Career Wardrobe and many professional women around Philadelphia. These events continue to grow and gain new supporters every day. Some pictures from last year include some familiar, smiling faces!

This event rings in with numerous celebrity donations from Jessica Alba, Kathleen Turner, Nicole Miller, Kenny Chesney and many more! Also donating to this event are local celebs such as Claude Gioux, Danny Briere, Cole Hamels and Jimmy Rollins.(GO PHILLIES!) Many corporate sponsors are supporting this event including PECO, KYW Radio, Ernst & Young, Deloitte, Ciber, QVC and several others.

With such an amazing line up of networking, mingling and faces tickets will go fast!!! You MUST purchase tickets in advance. Don't be late, tickets are on sale NOW through Friday June 1st.

If you are a woman living in Philadelphia and in need for a life change I highly recommend taking a closer look at Career Wardrobe and this upcoming event. Amazing women helping other women succeed and live a healthier more fulfilling lifestyle. Even if you are employed, this organization can bring you the confidence and push to step out of your comfort zone and reach for the stars. If there's a will there's a way, Women WILL find their Way!
