Gallivantures

Gallivant+Adventures=Gallivantures.  Precisely what we do in the City of Brotherly Love. North to South, field to field, bar to bar. You will always find a new view, a new street and a new brew on tap. This adventure took me to S.Philly. More exact- East Passyunk area. Filled with boutiques, cafes, restaurants and neighbors enjoying live music in the park. Italian restaurants fill the air with smells of fresh pasta, cheese and savory meat balls! The streets are lit with strings of golden lights. My good friend Megan and I were able to meet and experiment at a new place in the area, Birra.  A quaint new place at 1700 East Passyunk Ave. Offering a variety of dishes from starters and salads to building your own pizza; they praise themselves in complementing their superb draft list with the freshest ingredients from local growers. I do have to say their draft and bottle list was a refreshing selection from your usual beer suppliers.
We decided to split two dishes;  The Beet Salad and Noni's Brisket. Both were absolutely scrumptious! Fresh herbs and greens while the meat was perfectly tenderized and marinated. Served on locally bought and made panini bread. To top off this 'catch-up' meal, the service (at the bar) was outstanding. Personal, friendly and genuinely sincere. This can make all the difference in the world. A great new and modern feeling atmosphere surrounded by the open kitchen sounds, sights and smells while enjoying the ball game on one of their several flat screens. The noise was not overbearing, perfect for chatting about creative endeavors.
To top off this lovely experience we were complimented a Strawberry Dessert. This was the sweet spot! Savory, moist and full of flavor. We hit the jackpot- Great ambiance, food and service. I will make a point to get back here- On my rating scale I would give this a 4.65 only because I feel there is always room for improvement.. There's no such thing as perfect right?! I would highly recommend this corner spot for a night out in S. Philly. A perfect addition to this neighborhood.

Another gallivanture leads me to blue skies, clouded skies and magnificent views all around. Meeting new friends with inspiring conversations of life and the work we lead. I think my mind was distracted with such a gorgeous evening in front of us. A cool but refreshing breeze poured in off of the Delaware. Morgan's Pier was another terrific idea for Philly. This outside venue is perfect for Philadelphia visitors as it shines with such a glorious view of the Ben Franklin Bridge into Camden NJ. Stepping away from busy city streets you can relax and enjoy some food and tunes at the Pier. And really though who wouldn't want this view at sunset?!

Some more captures below highlight city street views and the rumbling clouds of color that linger after a summer shower. A kaleidoscope of color may be an appropriate title for these few.

I love Philadelphia in the summer time. There is so much to do, everyday, every night, every weekend. Its the matter of what you enjoy and what makes you feel wholesome. Music, food, walks, views, sunsets, softball and so much more. I'm so thankful and blessed to be able to enjoy the city at my fingertips. I am more thankful to be able to share these moments and breathtaking views with the ones I care for and love. These adventures wouldn't be the same without the love we have.  A touch of sun, an open mind and some walking shoes will do.
